When you visit the site

The web server, and any services used to deliver or protect the site, receive the technical information needed to return a page. This can include your IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, and the time of the request. That information may also appear in operational or security logs.

We use this information to deliver and protect the website. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure site. Cloudflare helps deliver and protect the site, and the production hosting service operates the server.

Cloudflare may process website request information outside the UK. For restricted transfers, its data processing terms use standard contractual clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Calling or using WhatsApp

The call and WhatsApp links work whether or not you accept analytics. Selecting a call link asks your device to start a telephone call. Selecting a WhatsApp link opens WhatsApp so that you can review and send your own message; this website never sends one automatically.

A click does not send your job details to this website. Your telephone provider or WhatsApp handles the connection under its own terms. If you contact Arkley Scaffolding, the business receives the number, profile details and job information that you choose to share and uses them to discuss and respond to your enquiry.

We use those details to discuss the work you request and, if agreed, arrange and carry it out. For an individual customer, this is normally necessary to take steps at your request before a contract or to perform that contract. For a person contacting us on behalf of a business, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to the business enquiry and managing the work. We may also have legal obligations to keep transaction records.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 is optional. The Google tag is requested only when a dedicated Arkley measurement ID has been configured and you have selected Accept analytics. If the measurement ID is not configured, choosing accept does not connect to Google Analytics.

When active, analytics records page views and two types of contact click: call_click and whatsapp_click. A contact-click event contains only a fixed placement label, such as header, hero, contact or footer. It does not contain the phone number, WhatsApp address, message text, job details, or values taken from a page query string. Click counts show that a link was activated; they do not prove that a call, message, enquiry or job followed.

Google may process technical details about the browser and device in order to provide Analytics. Advertising tracking, user IDs and session recording are not part of this website setup.

We use Google Analytics only with your consent. You can withdraw that consent through Cookie settings on any page; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out while your consent was valid. Google provides the analytics service and may process data outside the UK. For relevant UK-to-US transfers, Google relies on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework; it uses standard contractual clauses for certain other transfers. How long information is kept

Enquiry details are needed while discussing proposed work and may remain afterward for follow-up or a dispute. If a job goes ahead, relevant details may be needed while work is carried out and for applicable accounting, tax or legal obligations. There is no single fixed period for all enquiries: the time depends on whether the enquiry becomes a job and which obligations apply.

Technical and security logs follow the operational needs and retention settings of the services that handle them. Arkley's Google Analytics property is set to retain event data associated with cookies or identifiers for two months and user data for 14 months; new user activity resets the user-data period. These settings do not determine how long most standard aggregated reports remain available.

Your rights and complaints

You can ask for access to your personal information or for inaccurate information to be corrected. Depending on the circumstances, you can also ask for deletion, restriction, or transfer of your information. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using Cookie settings. If you remain concerned, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator.

Your right to object

Where we rely on legitimate interests to deliver and secure the site or handle a business enquiry, you can object to that use of your information for reasons relating to your situation. Call or WhatsApp us using the details below. We will consider the objection and stop that use unless we have compelling grounds to continue or need the information for legal claims.

Cookies and preference storage

Your analytics choice is saved in your browser so the site can remember it. The site first uses local storage and also writes a first-party preference cookie named arkley_analytics_consent, which expires after one year. This storage is used only to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics.

If browser storage is unavailable, the site still works and keeps your choice for the current page, but may need to ask again later. After you accept, Google Analytics may set cookies whose names begin with _ga. Rejecting analytics does not load the Google tag. Withdrawing a previous acceptance disables analytics, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site and reloads the page without the tag.
